Amrit Kumar - PhD Candidate

I (Amrit Kumar Mishra) was born in India and grew up in the coastal villages of India. I was passionate for biology studies from my school days. I studied my undergraduate in 2006 in Microbiology and was interested to study aquatic microbial ecology. So I opted for master in Marine Biology from 2011 to 2013. During my master’s thesis work I started working on the seagrass of Andaman’s and related my research to seagrass microbiology and ecology. Currently I am an Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctoral researcher of Marine Ecosystem Health and Conservation (MARES) working on “Global change effects on seagrass ecosystem and their role as global carbonsink” at CCMAR, University of Algarve under the supervision of Dr. Rui Santos and Dr. Jason Hall Spencer, Plymouth University, UK.
